KBG – Bigger Speed-Distance Graph

Download speed decreases rapidly with distance. The maximum speed of 80 Mbps is only attainable with a line length of about 200 metres or less. At one kilometre the maximum download speed is about 28 Mbps, 16 Mbps at 2 km, 9 Mbps at 3 km.For example, an effective line length of 1.2 kilometres (km) would give a maximum download speed of about 24 Mbps. Line lengths over 3 km are unlikely to be much faster than current broadband provision (ADSL).
